The application of bonding extensions – an overview
The preparation for bonded extensions is similar to that for tape-in extensions. Your own hair is parted, and the extension is attached to the strands of your own hair. You should ensure that the natural hair strands are the same thickness as the extension strands. As with all types of extensions, Bondings Work from bottom to top and from back to front. Our Rubin Mini hair iron is best used to apply the bonds.
Extensions with bondings – A step-by-step guide
STEP 1
Part your hair with a comb and pin up the top section so it doesn't get in the way of your subsequent work. Then, using a tail comb, take a section of hair from the bottom section, right at the parting. This section should be the same width as the bonding strand you'll be attaching to it.
STEP 2
Place the extension strand on the strand about 2 millimeters above the scalp and glue it in place.
STEP 3
Using the method from steps 1 and 2, work your way up the back of your head, section by section and strand by strand. Then lengthen the sides in the same way.
OUR TIP:
Don't insert the keratin bonds all the way to the edge of your natural hair. If the extensions are too close to the edge, the roots may become visible when styling or braiding.
